The Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas is an affordable hotel for a weekend spa getaway

We helped out our friends at fashion website StyleCaster.com by compiling a list of our top choices for wallet-friendly hotels across the country that make for great spa getaways. Our list ran yesterday on their site, and it’s definitely worth a read if you’re in need of an affordable spa hotel for a weekend retreat with the gals (or guys, or significant other — whatever). To make our list, hotels had to satisfy three main criteria: they are reasonably priced, they have a well-respected spa capable of pampering, and they’re all-around great hotels that we’d happily recommend to our best friends.

Want a sneak peek at the hotels we chose for StyleCaster readers?

Standard Hotel, Miami (average $148/night)

The Standard is designed to be a gratuitously sexy spa hotel, with a 24-hour saltwater pool overlooking the bay and parties every week. Guests here embrace sexiness but bliss as well, perhaps by lounging in the waterfall hot tub or gaining focus with daily yoga and meditation. The famous Lido Spa offers guests a coed Turkish hammam (though unlike at Hotel Victor, above, bathing suits must stay on) and treatments like the “rub and scrub,” during which they’re bathed, exfoliated, stretched, and massaged from head to toe on a heated marble table. For just $20, guests can experience the Mud Lounge – get a cup of mud to spread on yourself, sit in the sun for 15 minutes, then hop in a tub of water to rinse off – or have a friend hose you down.

The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino, Las Vegas (average $176/night)

The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino is a top Las Vegas hotel, from plush rooms, to endless restaurants, to a classy casino. The spa, too, is one of Vegas’ best. The world-renowned Canyon Ranch SpaClub offers a huge list of massages, energy therapies, ritual baths, body wraps, and more. Everything here centers around Aquavana, an aquathermal complex including an herbal laconium (a warm, ceramic-tiled room with individual thrones), the Hydro Spa (a fancy name for a Jacuzzi), a Finnish sauna, the Igloo (opposite of a sauna), rain showers, and other highfalutin features. The fitness center includes a 40-foot rock climbing wall. (Note: The Palazzo shares its spa with sister hotel The Venetian).
