　　The Musée National has a modest collection of masks, statues and musical instruments, many of which are used in religious or mystical ceremonies.

　　In the museum courtyard is a rather bizarre monument to Noël Ballay, a French auxiliary doctor and the first governor of French Guinea. The statue shows a grandly dressed Ballay with his arm around a young naked African boy.
