Sealine Beach Resort
May 19, 2024

This lovely low-rise, beachside resort just south of Mesaieed is a favourite among expats wanting to escape the city for the weekend. Far enough away to be unaffected by Mesaieed's heavy industry, it's ringed by glorious amber sand dunes, plus lawns and palm trees on the grounds. There's a gym, spa and smart, modern and clean rooms with wooden floors.

Day visitors are welcome to use the hotel facilities, including pools, tennis and volleyball courts, and the beach. There's a bright, slick Middle Eastern restaurant called Al Odaid in the lobby, plus the Reef and Burger poolside bar and the La Meaenda pizza cafe. The resort hires out jet skis (QR400 per 30 minutes) and can arrange desert quad bikes for exploring the local dunes, known as the ‘singing sands’, as they create vibrating sound when the sand moves under foot or tyre.

Camel and horse rides are available nearby, and there's a clown to entertain the children, as well as activities like face painting. Day admission during the week includes a food and beverage voucher.
